[Instructor Tools](https://simvana.com/knowledge-base/user-portal?hsLang=en#instructor-tools) October 3, 2026 # Reviewing Learner Data ## Learn how to review your learner's progression and performance data on the SIMVANA user portal Instructors can review learners in their institution by opening the portal in a selected learner's context. This lets you inspect their dashboard, lessons, simulations, and assigned lesson plan. The **Impersonating** banner identifies whose data you are reviewing. Always check this banner before interpreting progression or exporting a report. ### Finding a User #### From Home 1. Select **Home** in the left navigation. 2. Find the **Users** panel. 3. Use its search field to find the learner. 4. Select the learner's name or row. #### From User List 1. Select **User List** under **Instructor Tools**. 2. Use the **Cohort** dropdown to narrow the list, or select **All Cohorts**. 3. Search for the learner using their name or email. 4. Select their row. The User List table provides learner information, cohort, completions, time spent, last seen, and sessions. A session represents a login to the VR app. Selecting a learner opens their Home dashboard. Confirm the learner's identity in the **Impersonating** banner. ### Reviewing Summary Data On the learner's Home dashboard, review: - **Recent Activity** for recently accessed content. - **Lessons** for lesson usage time, completion count, and average completion time. - **Simulations** for simulation usage time, completion count, and average completion time. - **Simulation Preparation** for preparedness across simulations. - **Lesson Plan** for assigned-content progress. Use its section selector to review another section. These are the selected learner's data. The instructor Home dashboard provides the broader cohort and institution view. ### Reviewing Detailed Progression While the learner's view is active, use the left navigation: - **Lessons:** Follow [Reviewing Lesson Progression](https://simvana.com/knowledge-base/reviewing-lesson-progression?hsLang=en) to open modules, categories, lessons, certificates, and attempt debriefs. - **Simulations:** Follow [Reviewing Simulation Progression](https://simvana.com/knowledge-base/review-simulation-progression?hsLang=en) to inspect preparedness, metrics, attempt timelines, clinical debriefs, and PDF exports. - **Lesson Plan:** Follow [Reviewing Lesson Plan Progression](https://simvana.com/knowledge-base/reviewing-lesson-plan-progression?hsLang=en) to review assigned sections and download a section certificate. These pages use the same workflows as a learner's personal view, with the selected learner's data. ### Returning to Your Instructor View Select the **X beside Impersonating** in the top toolbar to end impersonation and return to your own view. For cohort-wide review of assigned work, open **Section Progression** after ending impersonation. Section Summary Versus Full Learner View Selecting a learner in the **Section Progression** table opens a popup summarizing that learner's progress in the selected section. It does not follow the Home or User List workflow for entering the learner's full portal view.
