Email Only Login (Instructor Mode)
Instructors can allow learners to login with only their email address to save time in shared device environments
Instructor Mode is only available on Instructor level accounts.
Instructor mode enables faculty members to remove the requirement of entering a user’s password on a shared VR device when using SIMVANA VR applications. When enabled, users save time logging in by only entering their email address to begin using the application.
Enabling Instructor Mode
To enable Instructor Mode, open the Settings page on the main menu. Find the Instructor Mode option in the settings, and click Enable. You will be required to enter your user credentials to confirm the action.
Once enabled, any user can enter their email address only to become the active user. When a new user picks up the device, they can click the Change User button in the main menu to enter the email and become the active user.
Disabling Instructor Mode
To disable Instructor Mode, open the Settings page on the main menu. Find the Instructor Mode option in the settings, and click Disable. You will be required to enter your user credentials to confirm the action. Disabling the feature will return the user to the login screen and require users to enter their username and password to login again.
Logging into a device with Instructor Mode enabled
When Instructor mode is enabled, the app will only ask for the user’s email on launch. Users can also click the Change User button in the main menu to switch users in the same session.
