Review Cohort Lesson Plan Progression

Learn how to review a cohort's progression through an assigned lesson plan

Section Progression lets instructors review how a cohort is progressing through its assigned lesson plan. Use it to compare learners, identify areas for follow-up, and open a section-specific summary for an individual learner.

Overview

  1. Select Section Progression under Instructor Tools.
  2. Choose the cohort and lesson-plan section in Data Controls.
  3. Set the date range.
  4. Review cohort charts and learner summaries.
  5. Find a learner in the table and select their row for more detail.

Dates filter all data displayed on this page. Check the selected range when interpreting low activity, incomplete content, or missing usage data.

Selecting a Cohort and Lesson Plan Section

  1. Open the Cohort dropdown and select the cohort.
  2. Open the Section dropdown and select a section from that cohort's plan.
  3. Check the displayed section due date.
  4. Set Start and End, or choose an Activity Range preset.
  5. Confirm the page heading identifies the intended cohort and section.

Each cohort has one lesson plan. Changes to the plan cause learner progression to be recalculated. Section due dates are informational.

Cohort Usage

Cohort Usage graphs usage time over the selected period and displays a total. Use it to review activity patterns for the selected cohort and section.

Growth Potential and High Achievers

Growth Potential highlights up to four learners who may benefit from additional support based on SPI performance.

High Achievers highlights up to four learners with the strongest relative SPI performance.

Use these lists to prioritize review, then inspect individual metrics before deciding how to follow up. In a small cohort, the same learners can appear in both lists.

Struggle Areas highlights content where the cohort is having more difficulty than the wider user base. The portal's guided overview describes comparisons based on attempts or time spent.

Content Completion Graph

Each bar represents an individual content item in the selected lesson-plan section.

  • The pale background represents the full 100% height.
  • The solid fill shows the percentage of learners in the cohort who have completed that item.
  • The legend identifies Tutorial, Lesson, and Simulation content by color.

For example, a bar filled halfway indicates that 50% of the cohort has completed that item within the selected data scope. A pale bar without solid fill does not indicate 100% completion.

User List

Use the search field to find a learner by name or email. Select All, In Progress, Complete, or Not Started to filter the table by section-progress status. Select a column heading to sort the table.

Column What to review
User Learner name and email.
SPI Rank Relative position within the selected cohort and section.
Section Completion Percentage of assigned section content completed.
Sessions VR logins during the selected period.
Certificate Certificate status for the selected section, shown with a checkmark or X.
Usage Trend & Total Usage pattern and accumulated time.
Most Recent Activity Timestamp of the learner's latest recorded activity in the displayed scope.

SIVMANA Performance Index (SPI) Rank

A rank of 1 is the highest relative position. SPI is not a grade or competency assessment. See SPI Index for an explanation of the metrics used.

Opening a Learner Section Summary

  1. Find the learner in the table.
  2. Select their name or row.
  3. Review the popup identifying the learner and their overall section SPI Rank.
  4. Compare Completion Percentage, Total Completions, Avg Completion Time, and Time Spent with their Cohort Avg values and displayed ranks.
  5. Review the learner's usage chart and content table for completion counts, time spent, and most recent activity.
  6. Press Escape to close the popup and return to the cohort report.

This popup summarizes the selected lesson-plan section. For the learner's full portal view and detailed lesson or simulation history, follow Reviewing Learner Data.

Saving the Report as a PDF

Select Download PDF of Report in Data Controls to save the page as viewed. Check the cohort, section, and dates before exporting.

This report is separate from a learner's section certificate. See Reviewing Lesson Plan Progression for the certificate workflow.
